Promised to be bigger and better than ever, this year’s Grand Design Live event at the ExCeL London from 3-11th May certainly lived up to the hype. Based on the popular Channel 4 TV series, and presented by design guru Kevin McCloud, GDLive was packed with over 500 exhibitors with ideas and inspiration for anyone interested in designs for homes and gardens.

Senior Architectural systems were delighted to be able to show a range of their aluminium and timber composite windows and doors as part of a display on the HIVEHAUS® and Duration Window stands.

Inspired by the hexagonal honeycomb structures built by honey bees and based on the simple logic of a child’s construction kit, HIVEHAUS® has been designed by Barry Jackson to be a highly affordable, ultra compact but extremely comfortable living space suitable for a wide variety of applications. The flexibility of the HIVEHAUS® modular panel system permits ‘off the shelf –bespoke’ selection of wall /windows panels to suit individual user specifications.

For GDLive, HIVEHAUS® chose to use Senior products to show the possibilities offered by the system’s unique design. Featuring a Senior Hybrid composite timber tilt and turn window, lift and slide patio door and single door, plus an aluminium tilt turn window and set of double doors, HIVEHAUS® looked spectacular and certainly drew the crowds. Manufactured by Hepworth Framework of Huddersfield, the windows and doors performed as beautifully as they looked.

Whilst HIVEHAUS® chose to display Senior’s Hybrid doors and windows in spruce, on Stand B238, Duration Windows from Canvey Island went for the more traditional oak option, displaying a single composite oak and aluminium window manufactured by The Greener Window Company.

The two exhibitors were joined by Senior’s Hybrid Sales Manager Bernard Harrison and Business Development Manager Bill Robertson.
